There was huge fiasco when the screening of Ekta Kapoor’s hit production ‘The Dirty Picture’ on national television channel was stalled after censor’s objections over the content of the film. Producer Ekta Kapoor then had 52 cuts in the final picture just in order to make it suitable for the universal audience of television.

But despite of 52 cuts, the film was barred from screening and being broadcasted on a wide medium of television. But the makers yet again resubmitted the film for clearance before the censor board. They approached the Central Board for Film Certification (CBFC) for clearance.

And after 100 cuts, muting of certain dialogues and deletion of 3-4 minutes of the film, they have finally got a ‘U/A’ certificate for the television screening. Also the condition to screen it after 11pm has been thrown out of the condition as it has been cleared to be aired at the any given point of time.
