IPL should be scared of us, says Emraan
In a cricket crazy nation, often filmmakers avoid releasing their mega big budget films during the highly famous Indian Premiere league seasons. But with time the trend is changing as more and more young stars are daring to release their films right in the middle of the cricketing series. While filmmaker Sajid Khan is daring to release his anticipated mega budget multi-starrer film ‘Houseful 2’ right a day after IPL season 5 commences.
The latest to join the list is Bhatt production’s latest film ‘Jannat 2’ that will be releasing right in the middle of the cricketing season. “We are not scared of the IPL, the IPL should be scared of us,” said Emraan Hashmi when asked about the release of his film during the ongoing IPL. He further justified the decision of his stand as he exclaimed the original film too released amidst IPL and did a fairly good business. “Jannat was released during the IPL in 2008 and when we were promoting our film in Kolkata on the same day when the Kolkata Knight Riders match was on. Still, we got a 100 percent opening,” added Emraan.
It remains to be seen if the sequel is successful in repeating the history of its original.
